This app is something inbetween Duolingo and Anki. It lets you create your own learning flash cards, dowloand some community made ones or the official ones. The key point is that you are self-evaluating your knowledge on a specific card.
The flash card creating supports text with different sizes and colors, pictures and audio. The design is mobile-first, but also thinking about the web version.
Collaborating on a project with a developer. We are working on a language learning app, designed for mobile first (android & iOS), but also available in web version. We have the basic story-flow with comprehension questions implemented. Besides UX design, my role is also content creation (writing stories, dialogues, exercises, translations) and managing the voiceover recordings.
The UX design for our app will rely on Duolingo as a good reference example. However, we will innovate on some elements that will make the app an entirely new experience. Also, we are starting with a language that Duolingo is not offering yet - covering a pretty blank spot on the market.
