I made a virtual escape room in Escape Simulator’s editor. I did the game design, puzzle design & level design. I mostly used in-game assets, but I also made some custom assets myself (2D, 3D, music, sfx). For game logic I used visual scripting in a form of prefabs (and changing their properties). The room was made in about 3 weeks (after work & weekends), during build-a-thon. It can be played as a single player or co-op.
It currently has almost 1700 downloads (subscribers), more than 300 people rated it and its current rating is 4 stars. I can still edit it and fix bugs with patches - the history of edits can be seen in Change notes. I also got a very positive comment about the hint system, which was thoroughly planned and designed in a way that first offers you a slight hint to direct you, and then a more concrete one if you need it. I’ve put a lot of effort into making the process of solving the puzzles somewhat linear - as much as was needed to avoid confusion and ensure a nice game flow. So some hints are unlocked at the biginning and some unlock when the player does a required action prior.
